WINNIPEG —; A 27 year old man is facing 19 charges stemming for a crash that killed 20-year-old Taylor Renwick on October 9.
Renwick was headed home for Thanksgiving to Napinka near Melita from Winnipeg when she died in a head-on collision on Highway 2, just two kilometers east of St. Claude around 11:30 p.m.

An alleged drunk driver was being pursued by RCMP who say they had backed off before the crash because of excessive speeds and reckless driving.
RCMP have charged Manuel Britney Cowley with impaired driving causing death as well as criminal negligence causing death and flight from police causing death.
He also was charged for breaching probation. According to RCMP he had to abstain from drinking alcohol.

In addition, he has been charged with Breach of Probation x2, including that he abstain from alcohol.
The Independent Investigations Unit is looking into the incident. The unit investigates all serious incidents involving police officers in Manitoba, occurring on or off duty.
